Null Stern Hotel in Switzerland

-

Null Stern Hotel in Switzerland is a unique hotel that redefines the concept of “immersive travel.” The hotel has no walls or roof, leaving guests with nothing but a bed and breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps.

Features

Location: Initially, there was only one room located in Safien Valley in Graubünden. However, the concept has expanded to include other locations in eastern Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Open-air concept: The hotel consists of a double bed with a pair of nightstands and lamps, placed on a platform in the middle of alpine meadows.
Focus on experience: The idea behind Null Stern, which translates to “Zero Stars” in German, is to strip away all distractions and allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Swiss Alps. As co-founder Daniel Charbonnier explains, “Null Stern is not about luxury, but about experiencing the raw beauty of the environment without barriers. The landscape is the hotel.”
Personalized service: Despite its minimalist approach, guests receive personalized services from a “modern butler” who provides welcome drinks and breakfast in the morning.

Things to Consider

Weather dependence: The experience is highly weather-dependent, and bookings may be canceled or rescheduled due to unfavorable conditions.
Privacy: There is limited privacy, as the bed is situated in an open field.
Basic amenities: There is no bathroom or running water in the “room” itself.

Null Stern Hotel is not your typical hotel. It challenges the traditional notion of hospitality and offers a truly unique way to experience the Swiss Alps. Travel expert Linda Pearce comments, “The Null Stern Hotel pushes the boundaries of conventional travel by offering a deeper connection with nature. It’s a retreat for those who seek simplicity and an unforgettable sensory experience.”
