Born as a married man with three children, Bharati worked as a bank clerk in New Delhi. In 1970, he experienced a spiritual awakening and decided to dedicate his life to the Hindu deity Shiva. As a sign of his unwavering devotion, he raised his right arm in the air. The initial years were incredibly challenging. He endured immense pain and his arm eventually atrophied, losing most sensation.
